Our outdoor amphitheatre is tucked into 10 beautiful acres in Shawnee Mission Park with a separate entrance at 7710 Renner Road. Located just north of I-435 Highway and 87th Street, our facility is easily accessible from anywhere in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Gates open at 7pm on performance nights.

Our intimate black box theater is located inside the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center at 8788 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, Kansas. There are many restaurants, hotels and amenities located nearby. While visiting, be sure to experience the Johnson County Museum, located inside the AHC too!

All TIP OUTDOOR tickets are ANYTIME tickets! Buy all the tickets you need (either online or in person at our box office) then just show up! Use your tickets for any performance of any OUTDOOR production. Anytime tickets... Easy! (Please remember... all sales are final! )

  • $10 plus tax for general admission

  • $6 plus tax for youth ages 4-10 - children 3 and under are free but require a ticket

  • Box office opens at 6:30pm on show nights

  • Gates to the theatre seating area open at 7:00pm

  • Performances begin at 8:30pm 

  • Outdoor tickets are not valid or able to be exchanged for Indoor performances.

All Movies-in-the-park tickets are general admission and are $1 per person! (Children 3 and under are free.)

  • You may purchase online OR the box office with credit/debit cards. (For Summer 2020 we strongly suggest you purchase online!)

  • Gates open on movie nights at 7:30pm

  • Movies begin between 8:30pm and 8:45pm (Generally speaking, when it is dark enough... we start!)

  • Audience size has been limited for 2020 and social distancing markers have been placed throughout the seating area.

These tickets are not valid for OUTDOOR productions. (Please remember... all sales are final! )

  • Tickets for INDOOR productions vary depending on the show. Visit our BOX OFFICE page for detailed information.

  • You may purchase tickets online, or visit the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center M-F: 9am - 9pm and Saturdays: 9am - 5pm

  • No matter of age, everyone requires a ticket to see an INDOOR performance. 

    • Children under the age of two will not be allowed in the theater.


We have 80 reserved chairs available for each OUTDOOR MUSICAL THEATRE performance (reserved seats are not available for movie nights).
Leave your lawn chair at home and still get a great seat! Arrive right before the show begins and still be guaranteed a prime seat! See the map below to see where in the bowl the reserved chairs are located. Reserved chairs may be purchased online in advance (recommended) or if available, by visiting the box office the night of the performance. Reserved chairs are $20 (plus tax) per chair. Please note, this ticket covers entry as well as your chair, of course. Book early, availability is limited! You may also CHANGE your reservation for reserved chairs up until 5pm on the day of the performance!


Parking for our disabled patrons at TTIP's OUTDOOR amphitheater is located directly adjacent to gate #3 next to our reserved parking. Anyone with an appropriate plaque will be admitted to park in disabled parking free of charge, of course!


Want a guaranteed "short walk" to the gates of the OUTDOOR theatre? Our reserved parking section just steps away from gate #3 is for you! Reserved parking passes are available for only $5 and can be purchased online in advance!


Visit the OUTDOOR theater and see every performance of every show... and... park in the reserved parking area every time for a one-time fee of only $25 dollars! That's right! Visit when ever you like and park in reserved parking every time! Purchase full season parking passes directly online and don't even stand in line at the box office!

Here's the deal: you have to buy your ticket at the box office, and you have to see the show THAT Thursday evening. We know... rules, rules, rules... but, hey... 20% off is 20% off! RIGHT?!


Part of our OUTDOOR seating area is for BLANKETS and LOW beach chairs only!!
Please observe the areas designated for "Blankets Only", and please don't save a seating area larger than a reasonable size to accommodate your group.

Ground-level-chairs (low seats or beach chairs that sit flat on the ground) are allowed in the blanket area. If you have questions on our seating policy, please consult the House Manager or any member of our front-of-house staff.

Look for this sign when you arrive at the theater for direction to the blanket and low-chair section.

  • Sorry, pets are not allowed in the Theater bowl outdoor (service animals accepted.)

  • Smoking is PROHIBITED inside the Theater bowl outdoor. 

  • Please, no flash photography; it is VERY distracting to the cast and the audience.

  • Videotaping any performance is STRICTLY prohibited by our royalty contracts.

  • Please turn your phones to silent mode before the performance begins.

  • Have fun with Frisbees, balls, toys, etc. in the areas beyond the main seating area outdoor.
    BUT... once the performance begins, please have fun watching the show!

  • Bring your own food and soft drinks, or you can visit our concession stand for great food and snacks outdoor.

  • For safety reasons, please do not bring glass containers into the Theatre.

  • Only cast, crew and staff are allowed backstage. You can visit with the cast by the flag pole following the performance.

  • Basic first aid supplies are located at the information booth by the flag pole outdoor and the reception desk indoor.

  • Sunscreen and insect repellent are great things to bring along on your visit outdoor.

  • You can rent a tall camping chair or a beach chair at the Information booth for $5 AND there are a few games you can check out for FREE there too!

• Concessions are available before the show and at intermission.  You may bring concession purchased at that time into the performance.
• Sorry, pets are not allowed in the Arts and Heritage Center or in the theater (service animals accepted.)
• Smoking is PROHIBITED inside the Arts and Heritage Center; this includes vaping and e-cigarette use.  There is a designated smoking areas outside the front doors of the arts and Heritage Center.
• No flash photography.
• Videotaping any performance is STRICTLY prohibited by our royalty contracts.
• Please turn your phones to silent mode before the performance begins.
• Only cast, crew and staff are allowed backstage. You can visit with the cast in the Creative Commons after the performance.
• Basic first aid supplies and AED are located at the reception desk indoor. 

INDOOR Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of an INDOOR performance is rare.  Check the Theatre in the Park website and our FaceBook page for cancellation notifications.  Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5pm.  Phone calls received after 5pm Friday will not be returned until business hours the following Monday.
